When we participate in the Eucharistic celebration, or the Mass, we participate in Jesus' gift of himself to the Father by his death, and our transformation into his Body begun at our Baptism continues. Nothing we do at St. Ignatius is more important than actively participating in the Sunday Eucharistic celebration.
We celebrate Eucharist on most weekdays and several times on weekends.
Parishioners participate in our Eucharistic celebrations as active members of the Assembly and through particular liturgical ministries, including ushers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, and altar servers.
Children normally receive First Eucharist, or First Communion, in second grade, or around the age of 7. They are expected to participate in a preparation program. Parents who wish their child to prepare for First Eucharist should contact the Coordinator of Religious Education for more information.
Adults who are baptized at the Easter Vigil will receive First Eucharist at that same time. Adults who have been baptized but who have not received First Eucharist yet desire it should contact the pastor.
