From its beginnings in 1662, St. Ignatius Chapel Point has been sponsored by the Society of Jesus and staffed by Jesuit priests, brothers, and our lay colleagues. As such, parishioners practice the way of thinking and praying taught by St. Ignatius and his companions. This way is characterized by an openness to all of creation in the conviction that God speaks to us in all things, and praying with all of ourselves, including our imaginations, our senses, and our feelings.

St. Ignatius Church Chapel Point partners with the nearby Jesuit retreat house, Loyola on the Potomac, to offer to parishioners distinctively Ignatian prayer and retreat experiences. For more information on these programs at Loyola on the Potomac, go to:
In addition to these specifically Ignatian programs, St. Ignatius Church Chapel Point also offers parishioners opportunities to do traditional prayers and devotions, including the Rosary and the Stations of the Cross.
